 Seeking Highly Motivated Campaign Intern Organizers
Immerse yourself into the world of politics and be a part of the team to put California back on the right track. As a campaign intern organizer you will have the opportunity to network and outreach on behalf of the campaign and interact with high-level staff and political activist in the community to ensure that Dean Florez is elected the next Lieutenant Governor of California.
Senator Florez has been an outspoken leader in the areas of clean air, equality in education, food safety, animal rights, high-speed rail and government accountability.
Senator Florez is a past UCLA student body president and Harvard MBA alumni.
Responsibilities
Must be available 15-20 hrs/week. Primary Election is June 8, 2010.
v Outreach to community organizations throughout the area.
v Build a network of organizations and supporters to help coordinate campaign efforts.
v Coordinate efforts such as mailings, phone banks and campaign door-knocking.
v Voter registration, outreach and ability to mobilize voters on Election Day.
Qualifications
v Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in written and verbal correspondence with the campaign and the community.
v Ability to handle projects and deadlines simultaneously.
v Possess basic computer and office skills.
Successful intern organizers will acquire many skills during a campaign that will open many opportunities in the future. Previous successful campaign organizers have had the opportunity to work in positions that effect policy in a host of different areas, others have become political consultants, media consultants or have used the knowledge they have gained during the campaign to jumpstart their own political careers.
